QuestionI have put a synthetic 10-10-10 fertilzer on my lawn an I am seeing where it is burning..I water everyday, but it is still browning in several spots.I am in Alabama an we are in drought season so please help me..My lawn was so beautiful until this..Thank you Samantha
AnswerThe only advice I can give is to water thoroughly for a while. The lawn should green back up when cooler weather returns and moisture again is abundant.
Generally, lawns should not be fertilized when it is too hot and never during draught situations. Always make sure the lawn is not draught stressed. While the grass should be dry when fertilizing, the lawn should not be draught stressed. Watering deeply a day or two before fertilizing is recommended. Then always water fertilize in by applying about 1/2" to 1" of water which typically means watering for 30 minutes to one hour after applying.
