QuestionThis is going to seem like a weird question; but is actually serious.
Do you know if human urine is suitable for use as fertilizer? If so, does it need to be diluted with water? I have heard that it actually works quite well, and is completely sterile.
Answerpaul
yes a wierd question , but i've had people ask it before.
if you apply urine directly on plants(lawns, flowers, side of shrubs w/leaves on them, evergreens, etc.) it will kill the foliage or plant. of course urine is not always sterile. that's why they check urine for bacteria etc. when you are sick. urine only works real well if you apply it to a compost pile. it is high in nitrates, etc. but like most organic fertilizers they need to undergo a decomposition period to remove harmful bacteria and other compounds before they are a good fertilizer source for plants.
hope this helps
