QuestionYour reply was very usefull thanks i will spread them out as you sugest, so how often should i feed them?
AnswerI recommend applying 3 lbs of 5-10-10 per 100 sq feet. (1.33 kgs per 10 sq meters). Preferably before planting, but if you have small seedlings, then you can apply same around the plants now.
If you use a stronger fertilizer, such as 10-10-10 then use half of the above. The first number is nitrogen. if you use a 15-15-15 then the nitrogen is 3x as strong as a 5-10-10 and you should use 1/3 of the recommmended weight.
Before the vines start to "run" (trail) add another dose of fertilizer between the rows are recommended, and again at time of fruit development. Avoid fertilizer which is too high in nitrogen (e.g. 10-10-10, 5-10-10, etc). You can tell when the vines start to "run" because they send out small side shots which "runs" on the ground.
a total of 3 applications from now until harvesting should be sufficient (over a period of 3-4 months).
