QuestionCan I use rabbit dropping for fertilizer in my flower garders? I have a rabbit pen outside, and I just thought that when I clean up under their pen that there should be some use for the droppings.
AnswerYour rabbit droppings have a fertilizer value equal to 4-2-1. This is good for green plants provided it is added in sufficient quantities. I can definitely be used as additions but I doubt it will be enough for most plants.
I recommend digging the bedding material + droppings down in a garden bed in fall and let it mature over the winter. The fertilizer in the rabbit manure will be good to start the season for plants which prefer a rich soil. You should still fertilize with a flower type fertilizer during the season.
Do not add fresh droppings to the flowers (it will burn them)
