QuestionIn cleaning out my fathers shop after his death I found a bag of Super Phospate that he had stored. I know he used it for something but don't kow for what. Could use some help in what in may be used for in gardening or lawn care.
AnswerSome plants consume large amounts of nitrogen whereas others consumer greater amounts of phosphorus, potassium, etc. It also depends on how much is available in the soil to begin with.
A good guideline, however, is to use superphosphate around flowering plants in spring or early summer. Sprinkle it lightly around flowering shrubs and flowers once per year. Do not use too much as it can prevent uptake of other nutrients.
