Questionthe sulfur in my well water seems to damage some of my plants. is there a fertilizer that i could use to counteract it? I live in texas and do a lot of watering in the summer months.
AnswerThere is no fertilizer which will neutralize sulfor to my knowledge. Are you sure it is the sulfor ? Normally most plants can take substantial amounts of this element (they get it via sulfate of potassium, sulfate of magnesium (aka epsom salt), phosphorus sulfate, and acid rain). I don't know which levels you have, but in all my time, I have never considered sulfor as a culprit. Flouride for certain bedding plants can be a problem. So can very hard (alkaline) water. Even sodium (softened water) can be a problem for most plants. Sulfor, however, has never been a problem for us. Sorry.
