Questionwhat fertilizer can i use to keep my flowers heathy and have to gro bigger than thare'usual sise and keep bugs away from eating thire roots
AnswerMost flowers do well if fertilized with a formular such as 15-30-15, 10-15-10, 20-20-20, etc.
In the stores these are sold as Miracle Grow (15-30-15) or Peters (20-20-20). You can also buy the store brands as long as the numbers are similar (e.g. SAMs 15-30-15 is sold by walmart).
While I will not recommend one brand over another, I can tell you that Miracle Grow 15-30-15 has all essential micro and macro nutrients which is important for the indoors plants and outdoors container plants. Normally soil will contain adequate levels of micro nutrients. This may not be the case with indoors plants or plants grown in containers outdoors, therefore the fertilizer must provide these micro nutrients (you can compare them to the vitamins we take).
If you grow flowers indoors or in containers outdoors, make sure the fertilizer has a complete range of micro nutrients also (see fertilizer lable). I know that Miracle Grow 15-30-15 has these. If you grow flowers outdoors in soil, then any fertilizer will do.
The miracle grow, and other similar fertilizers, are powders which are dissolved in water. Follow direction at the back of the lable and ensure you do not use too much.
With fertilizer, the rule is to air on the side of caution. too much fertilizer can kill a plant.
