QuestionI live in NYC and have 7 or 8 large pots and window boxes on the roof outside. I put in all new dirt last year mixed with some peat. I will be planting morning glories, impatiens and other easy to car for plants again this year. Should I add anything to the soil again before I reuse it this year? Thanks. Joe
Answeri'd empty the old dirt from the pots and mix new soil w/the old dirt before refilling the pots. use a good indoor potting mix like jungle growth, peters, miracle grow, etc. visit a local garden center to find someone knowledgeable on container plants. quiz them on soils & fertilizers. buy some granular slow release fertilizer(i like espoma brand products like plantone) while there.
good luck
