QuestionWedding colors -Navy (spray paint )/white /purple /silver
A 15" large vase for bar/cake area - how many Jumbo hydrangea should I use - just around the neck? right - with large calla's spraying out at the top into space! 8-10? or more (does that sound nice?)
Can I spray paint Calla's? do they hold the spray like hydrangea? How much time do they need to open?
Bridal bouquet - she wanted bold& beautiful- deep navy sprayed blue/purple roses - ( I can never get them into a nice round bouquet -any suggestions?)I might add a collar of hydrangea (purple to add color and a base to work with?)
Bridal party is white hydrange bouqets & mini callas (all white mostly)
groom- white calla mini? should it be colored like the bride and the groomens flowers colored or not ? any color coodination colors you can recommend.
Thanks
Answer Hi Tracy,
I would not recommend spraying calla lilies because large ones do not naturally occur in navy, and I feel it would ruin the elegance of such a beautiful flower. They generally stay at the degree of openness they are purchased at, so you cannot anticipate a change in their look. A collar of hydrangea would be very nice, and I would think 10 would give it a nice full look. If you must tint your hydrangea, use a paint that is called Just for
Flowers by Design Master, as it gives a more natural look. You should try to use flowers that naturally occur in the color you would like to feature. Heavy painting will give your wedding a very aritficial look and cheapen what should be a beautiful display of flowers. Try to thik of the photos years from now. You may find that spraying everything to achieve a certain color trend will look very dated. Natural colors will allways look much more beautiful.
The groom most often has a flower that is found in the bridal bouquet or coordinates with it. If she has white mini callas, I would use that for the groom. The Groomsmen could have a flower that the bridesmaids are using in their bouquets.
I hope this helps give you some direction. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Best Regards
Peggy
