QuestionHi there Trish
I am doing my daughters wedding flowers for the reception tables in 5 weeks time. She is having large glass conical vases on the tables approx 36 inches in height. She wants to have cream rose buds, pink peony type roses and hydrangeas in them together with green foliage and I was thinking of the arrangement being in a pyramid shape ie large at the bottom tapering upwards. I just wondered if you could recommend what we do the arrangement in? Obviously we need it to be quite sturdy so we are able to transport the arrangement to the venue and once there we just need to be able to sit it on the top of the large water filled vase. I wondered about getting some sort of plastic tub tying some oasis to it and doing the arrangement on that and then that would perhaps just sit in the top of the vase. Any suggestions would be most welcome.
Many thanks
Regards
Sue
AnswerThat would work but I suggest you use the sticky floral puddy or tape.Secure them well and hide the tape with greenery. Choosing the puddy wont be hard to cover. IF you go to your local florist you can buy Lomey containers that are fairly
inexpensive and they work well with oasis also. Lomey dishes are available for the arrangements you are seeking to make. Make sure the top of your vases are not rounded and try one before the wedding on your own table. Its necessary to try one before you build them so you will know if they will sit atop the vase. People bump tables and if there is children they can sometimes be children!
I hope this helps and good luck with your adventure. Send me a pic at Grandlakeflowers@ AOL.com!
