QuestionHi! My daughter and I are planning to make the table centerpieces for her wedding. Can you please advise how many (qty) "mini" Callas lilies would adequately (look "full") fill a 3.5 in square vase opening? Also, how many hydrangea stems would be required for the same vase? We don't want them to look "skimpy" but want don't want to over order either. Thank you.
AnswerThanks for your question. For that size cube, one hydrangea should probably be enough.
I don't know when your wedding is, but right now the white ones are very full, and even have long individual lateral stems (long enough to cut individually to fill the space). I would recommend using 15 or 20 stems of callas. This would be reasonable if you could get them from Trader Joe's.
($7 or 8.99 for 20)If you buy them from a flower shop you often get 10 for 30 dollars. I would suggest doing up a sample and seeing how you feel about the way it looks. I always remind our brides that staying in their budget is an important step in money management. Don't go crazy, because it's such a short time at the reception, and poof, its over. All but the debt.
Callas are very thin, so you don't gain a lot of fullness from them...but it is definitely a look that many brides like, as they are elegant.
Hope this helps
Best of luck with your event.
