QuestionOn average ,how long can large headed, six inch stemmed ,cut Hydrangeas last in an oasis after being conditioned? Is their any other tip for longevity other than the boiling water trick?
AnswerThese guys are funny. You must start from the beginning and hydrate the flower heads
right from the start. I have florist who soak the heads and stem in water before using
in a wedding. We usually don't put ours in oasis but if we do we make sure the oasis is
wet, cut the stem with a very sharp knife, and check it before it goes out the door.
If its not getting water you will know! There are a lot of variables that play into this answer.
Keep it real from the beginning and if you have nice, healthy hydrangs you should have them
last for at least five days.
