I've purchased some mache' hearts and crosses, after I have soaked them do I need a snap fit base before starting to the flower arrangement?

How are you to present the crosses & hearts?  What manufacturer produced the product?  What floral choices will you be using?  The heavier the floral arrangement ( say, roses or lilies may be heavier than daisy poms )the more I would lean toward a sturdier construction.
