QuestionI have some growing in my garden and am told they make excellent cut flowers, however, if I cut them will more grow? Is it like when you dead head roses etc that more come in their place? Only I don't want to cut them and find that no more come to replace them.
Thank you
AnswerSnakehead lillies, or Fritillaria Meleagris; is a bulb that produces only one flower per season. If you cut it, that will be it. But... the good news is that if you leave the foliage alone it will encourage the bulb to push out bublets which means more flowers next year. They do naturalize on a regular basis. They're one of my favorites!
