QuestionHello, I would like to design a floral arrangement for my mother headstone for "Mother's Day" in a pink shade. Her headstone is black and there are 2 small vases on the side and I am not sure of how or what type of flower I should use. I want to make it so that it will cover the entire top length of the headstone and I want it to have fullness. Please tell me what type of artificial flower I should use and how many of each different kind I should get. Thanks so much and hope to hear from you soon.
AnswerHello,
I don't usually work with artificial flowers... but I think I can help.
I would concentrate on finding types with natural reach and drape such as wisteria for the main portion. Smaller flowers like spray roses can then be woven in. I would wire it together for stability.
Without seeing the actual stone and stems, I can't tell you how many. But I can tell you I would assume at least 12 wisteria and 6 rose or other small accent bloom plus another six "filler" bloom like a tiny wax flower or something along those lines.
Good luck and let me know how it works out.
