QuestionWhat is the best way to secure an fresh floral arrangement to a winding staircase railing. I will have 2 larger floral arrangements and 2 smaller. In between I will have plumosa garland as a swag. I realize I need to use an oasis foam product, but how are they secured to the railing without falling or leaning front heavy?
Thank you in advance!
AnswerThank You for your question! For me, it determines what the rail is made of ... brass, wood, etc. If it is a regular brass rail, I thread chenille stems through the base of the floral foam and laying it on top of the floral cage. Attach a chenille stem to the top og the oasis floral cage and one at the bottom. you may need to attach additional chenille stems to one another - depending upon the circumferance of the rail. Another use would be to take several floral wires and tape them with floral tape. The floral tape prevents scratching the surface of the rail.
When the arrangement is complete, carefully lay it upon the rail and use the wires to attach it to the rail. The top wire - make sure that you wind around the rail and "tie" it to the cage again. You may have to do this several times - again depending on the rail itself. Do the same for the bottom stem of the floral cage and rail. I have never had any arrangement slide down the rail or appear "top" heavy. I hope that this works for you - experiment prior to actual wedding - because I am unsure of what flowers you are using and what type of floral cage or size it is that you will be using. Good Luck!
