QuestionI am doing a fresh floral arrangement in a 24" tall glass cylinder vase. What is your advice on using a bowl with foam to sit on the top of the vase or just to place the flowers straight down into the vase.
I am adding curly willow for height, would that be to heavy for the plastic bowl/foam and make the arrangement unstable? I plan to add river rocks to the bottom of the vase but if the curly willow is too long would it stay in the foam securely?
Or should I just place the stems in the vase with water and let that take care of the stability question?
AnswerHi,
You wont be able to build your design laterally using the vase and water alone. My sugggestion is to affix a design bowl to the top of the vase - which you have already filled with stone or other decorative ballast. Use a floral putty to affix the bowl. Cut wet foam to be an inch of so higher than the rim of the bowl to allow for you to build laterally and you should be fine.
