QuestionA wholesale flower supplier told me that I need to buy expensive french tulips in order to arrange the tulip in the fishbowl. Is that true or can I use less expensive local tulips? Also if I want my bouquet to be tulips, how do I coordinate my bounieers and corages?
Thanks
AnswerNo, it is not true that you would need to buy the French tulips ... personally speaking, I believe that the buyer is paying more for the stem and the word "French" than anything else. If you are to use a fish bowl vase, you would be cutting the size of those French tulips a little more than half its length anyway. I would suggest tulips with plumosa, ming, or salal leaves. Leather can over power the delicacy of tulips. Bouts can be made by using 1 tulip for the focal flower, some filler, or even a secondary small flower with a small background of greens. To add creativeness, I often wire it all together with a matching or contrasting colored wired. Corsages are pretty much the same as the bouts ... just with a few more flowers added to create a fuller effect. I hope this helps. Thanks for asking! :-)
