QuestionHi...I am looking for a white rose that is large for hand held bridesmaid
bouquets. Any Suggestions? Bridal white is too pink and Vendela is too ivory.
Also, what is the best way to wrap bunched roses for bouquets without oasis
and water for bridesmaids to carry around for hours without them wilting?
AnswerWhat a super question! You've done your homework. Try Bingqing, a new rose cultivar. The flower is a double cup-shaped type with greenish-white outer corolla and creamy white inner corolla. Very pretty and very hardy. To keep ribbon wrapped bouquets fresh, you can include tiny water vials in the bouquets or; wire each rose and tape to force the heads upright. I like that method, personally. Conditioning is key. When you first get them, give each a fresh cut, strip foliage and plunge in cool water all the way up their necks for at least 8 hours. The next day, cut again, put in fresh water and begin working them. Do these at close to wedding as you can and keep refrigerated or at least in a cool dark room before they go.
