Question
I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE MY OWN LAYING ON THE GROUND GRAVE BLANKETS. I HAVE SEEN SOME THE FORM WAS MADE OUT OF WOOD?
PLEASE I WOULD LIKE A MATERIAL LIST & STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS. THANK YOU SOO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME.
AnswerIf I were to do a grave blanket, I would avoid wood due to the impractibility and weight in transport. What I suggest is that you build the covering in three separate sections using something called a "funereal saddle) for each. The saddles are large caged foam blocks which are flanked by stabilizing "wings". The large, long, outstreatched plan materials (evergreen boughs, gladiola, lemon leaf would all work well) form the undercoat. Additional plant materials of your choice provide the outer layer. You will need 3 funereal saddles which come equipped with the caged blocks, a minimum of 6 bunches of (wholesale size) greens for each section and a minimum of 3 (wholesale size - 24 stem) bunches of the flowers of your choice to make a complete covering. Often evergreens are used (mostly because the blankets are most often seen seasonally for the holidays) and the flowers used (if any, they evergreen looks perfectly lovely on it's own) can be swapped out weekly to keep the blanket fresh. You may also adorn the center with a large bow and forego the flowers. Hope this helps!
