QuestionI am trying to decorate the tops of my kitchen cabinets with grapevine garland and red berries. The garland came all coiled up and it is very stiff. I am having a hard time stretching it out and molding it where I want it. Is there a trick to doing this? Once that is done, what it the best way to attach it to the cabinets?
AnswerHi Judy,
Without knowing if you are using natural or artificial vine, it's hard for me to say. If it's natural, I like to spray it down lightly with warm water to loosen the coils. If it's artificial, there isn't much you can do. If it's a combination (natual vine with synthetic berries) you can still dampen it, just try to avoid the berries so the color won't bleed or flake. To affix it to the tops of the cabinet, what I would do is tack down thin, small loops of velcro and then attach the garland that way. Much easier than double face tape or wire, and easy to remove if you choose to.
