QuestionI love to cut the flowers off my pee gee hydrangia tree and place them in a vase of water. The problem is that they get weepy and die within a week. How can I keep them longer? Can I dry them and keep them through the winter?
AnswerPee Gees are thankfully about the easiest hydrangeas to dry. I have a tree I cut them from myself each year. However, I don't put them in water. I stand them in a dry vase right away. Some people spray them with hairspray, which I did try one year, but I didn't find it to make a big difference. And I keep mine an entire year, until the next year's flowers are ready to cut! As long as the air is somewhat dry, Pee Gees will generally dry beautifully on their own.
