QuestionMy home grown tomatoes taste like mold this year. There is no mold on them. We picked some that were a little green and let them finish ripening in the house and still had that taste. Last year they tasted great. What's wrong this year?
Thanks,
Carolyn
AnswerCarolyn,
I have never had this problem. Was the fruit overripe when you ate it, could it actually have mold on it? Could it be the variety? Are you growing a different variety that last year? Another thought is could your tomatoes have been accidentally sprayed with some kind of pesticide or fertilizer tea that has gotten into the fruit, which can change the taste.
I am sorry I do not have a definite explanation for you.
If I can assist you in any other way let me know,
Catherine
