QuestionI live in new port richey, fl. Every morning when I go out I find that something is eating the leaves of my corn plants. I don't know what to do about this. I planted a cantaloupe plant and marigolds near the corn but they are not being bothered. What can I do about this that won't harm my pets. I'd appreciate anything you can advise.
Thank you in advance.

AnswerSue:
I believe that these are cut worms that only operate at night. You will have to find a friendly solution to pour around the base of the plants to stop this. You may want to try collecting, crushing marigolds and add some vinegar and a little water. This worms are a big problem and difficult to deal with another solution might be to line the soil around the plants with newspaper wetted with vinegar.
