QuestionQUESTION: Within a few days of transplanting my tomato seedlings, the tops of the new
leaves are turning yellow so that half the leaf is green and the other half
yellow. I added lime to bottom of soil and covered it with a bit of dirt before
planting. I added fertilizer around plant. I've had this problem before but the
quickness in which the plant leaves turn half yellow is bewildering to me. Even
plants planted in new potting soil exhibit this process. It seems to happen
within days. Can over watering be a factor but then i question this because I
plant either in fast draining containers or in above ground situations.
ANSWER: Where do you live that you are transplanting tomatoes in the winter?
It could be transplant shock, it could be over-watering. Half a leaf is strange. Is this ongoing, or just one set of new leaves so far?

QUESTION: I live in Florida. zone 9 or 10. So far the problem exhibits itself in just the very
top new leaves.
AnswerOK, so it's probably not cold temperatures. Did you move them from indoors to outside? If there was an abrupt change in the amount of sunlight they've been getting, that could be the problem.I'd just give the plants a chance to adjust, they'll probably be OK.
