Question
If you plant a whole potato and at the appropriate distance you plant just the "eye" from the same species potato what will be the difference in the production rate?

How do they plant with mechanical equipment?

I haven't found there to be much difference in production between using a whole or a piece, but you can get more plants out of one potato by cutting it into pieces. Each plant should produce approximately the same amount, however, even if you planted two whole potatoes, the two plants might not yield exactly the same.

I don't know anything about using mechanical equipment.
