Questioni have three zucchini plant one of which i planted from seed and is huge. all ive been getting for well over a month now is male flowers. i live in nj not far from nyc and its been a hot year so far i also have two cucmber plants near the zucchini with no problems i already picked one and have around 7 more cukes growing i just cant figure out why no female flowers on the zuchhini. one of them however started to grow some females but they are starting out yellow and not really blooming
AnswerBrian, it is very common for the first one or two cycles of blossoms to be strictly male flowers. This always correct itself a few weeks after the blooming begins. Just be sure to continue fertilizing the plants every 10 days with a fertilizer high in phosphorus to stimulate more blooming. The bees will take care of the rest.
Good luck, and please write again if I can ever provide assistance.

Mike
