Question
For the past two years I have been having trouble with my watermelons and cantaloupes rotting on the bottom before the are fully ripe. Can you help me fix this so I can enjoy them fresh off the vine.

Two suggestions. If you can get some straw, put that under the melons (you can cover the entire bed with it if you like). Crumpled newspaper might work, too. Second, find where the vine starts and mark the spot with a stake. When you water, direct the water there, leaving the rest of the bed dry.
