QuestionHi
We live in western Canada which I believe is zone 2A.
My husband brought in some soil for a small garden behind the house, and now I am wondering what to plant.
I know a lot of the seeds available in stores like walmart wont grow here because of the short harsher growing season, and if they do take a lot of work.
Can you reccomend some good basic veggie seeds that should do good with a minimum of care other than weeding and watering?
Thanks so much!
P.S. I cant eat potatoes though I know they would be good-what about yams?
AnswerI'm not familiar with your weather patterns, so there may be other things you can grow, but for basically cool weather crops, I would suggest peas, spinach, lettuce and other greens. These would all be easy to grow, just give them plenty of water (not so much for the peas). You could also grow radishes and other root vegetables, but other than the radishes, they can be a bit trickier to germinate.
