QuestionIn previous year, when seeding radishes, onions and carrots, we used a chemical (now banned) to prevent worms. What can be used in its place? This is just a family garden, and we'd be devastated if we could no longer grow these vegetables.
AnswerDear Elsie,
Once I get things planted and established, my chickens take care of worms. If chickens are not an option for you, I recommend diatomaceous earth. I use it where chickens can't control themselves, like pretty red tomatoes, etc. Just sprinkle it on the plants and around on the soil. Actually, your veggies will probably be better without the chemical.
I wish you well.
Kind Regards,
KD Liz
