QuestionElyse,
I have a cayenne pepper plant growing in a patio pot. It has done very well with lots of peppers. My question is, when do I pull the plant up or harvest the peppers? Also, any suggestions on how to keep them or what to do with them? Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Gail
AnswerGail:
Cayenne peppers are harvested when red. You don't need to pull the plant until frost, and if you live in a frost-free area, then the plant may survive all winter. also, if you have a sunny enough window, you may even be able to grow more peppers indoors, if you care to.
To use them, make a string of them with some thread or thin string and hang to dry. They you can crush or grind them to use for seasoning.
