Questionhello, i planted eggplants a couple of months ago, and for a month it's been flowering and no fruits coming out. flowers just fall off when done. they are planted in a 1 gallon container each. they are getting sun and miracle gro but still no fruits. i live in guam where it is hot and humid. our farmers here plant veggies successfully, what am i doing wrong. thankyou
AnswerMiracle-gro is sold for different applications. The standard all-purpose blue fertilizer has a NPD ratio of 24-8-16, which is extremely high in nitrogen, the first number on the ratio label. This is ideal for bushes, grass, or plants with just foliage. However, for fruit-producing plants and flowering plants you need the second number to be high. This represents phosphorus, the nutrient for blooming and fruit production.
Attached are two links to the Miracle-gro product that should be used on tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants. It has a NPD ratio of 18-18-21. I think once you switch to this, the plant will start producing.
