QuestionI have been growing green bell peppers and have noticed some of them have large brown spots on them. Im worried they all may develope this! Is it a bacteria or something I need to be worried about?
AnswerDenyel:
Where are the spots? Do they look moist and rotted, or are they thin and sunken?
If the spots are mainly on the bottom, black and soft, it is blossom end rot. You should just pick the peppers and use what you can, before it spreads.
If they are on the sides and look sunken, thin and papery it is just sunscald. They should still be used soon, as the area around the spots can spoil. If that is the problem and it is very hot and sunny where you are, you may want to give the plants a little bit of shade.
