QuestionMy yellow summer squash plant leaves are all whitish/gray. Should I worry? This happened last yr. to my zuch. and I never got a single squash. THanks!
AnswerKris.
You've got powdery mildew, the scourge of curcubits everywhere. It sounds like it is probably too far gone to save, but you can try spraying with a mixture of 1T baking soda/1 gal of water. Milk is also supposed to work, but I'm not sure of the dilution. If the plant doesn't get worse in a week, keep spraying weekly. Otherwise, throw it out.
