QuestionHello,
I am an armature gardener in New England and I have an infatuation with the Habernaro. When I go on vacation in the tropics I go to the local market to find new species of Habernaros. This year, I am growing a miniature yellow species from the Caribbean. My question is, can I encourage or promote the miniature size of this species by selecting the next generation of seed from individual plants with the smaller fruit?
Thank you,
Mark.
AnswerMark:
When you reuse seeds they loose their hybrid characteristics. I recommend that you buy new seeds yearly.
Habanera grows very well in warm climite. Be careful with hands near the eyes when picking as they are very hot.
Best wishes.
