Question
I have lettuce and broccoli growing from seeds.  Unfortunately I planted too many seeds in each seed grower and I have a full crop.  They are only about an inch tall and very fragile.  When should I transplant them to my vegetable garden area?

Dear Ivette,
They can be transplanted when just a few inches tall, but the only way to strengthen the plants is to thin them immediately.  If they remain fragile and continue to get taller, they will never be sturdy plants.
I know it's hard to do, but they must be thinned to remain viable.
