QuestionMy dill have flowered and the seeds are brown. I wish to save them, some for spice and some for my next crop of dill. How can I dry them for spice? or do I just put them in the freezer and take them as I need them. One more question: is the rest of the dill plane any good for spice? is so how to dry, etc...
AnswerDear Dan,
Drying dill is just a matter of laying it out on a flat surface in the sun and turning it, to make sure all the moisture is evaporated. I use the spriggly part of the top of the plant in a number of dishes. It has a good dill flavor, sometimes I think even more potent than the seeds.
I wish you well.
Kind Regards,
KD
