QuestionHi, my name is Sierra
My cousin and I are doing an experiment with corn seeds. Our question that we have to answer is "do plants grow taller under different colors of light?". So we started this experiment with the colors of green, blue, red, and a white light. We have been doing the exact same treatment to each plant for four weeks now and we're suppose to go five. For some reason, the corn seed under the blue light isn't doing so well and its a little hard to measure in height. It's droopy and doesn't seem to be growing as much as it did. Why do you think this has occurred? What do you think I should I do?
AnswerSierra:
Well, that's why you're doing the experiment, right? You have discovered that plants do better with light at the red end of the spectrum. Of course sunlight contains all colors. I don't think that you should do anything different. Even if the plant dies before the 5 weeks are up, that is a valid result.
