hi mike,
i am havesting about 1 1/2 acres ofbutternut i planted a little late this year, most are fairly small, but as far as storing them i heard if i wash them in a bleach solution they will keep better ? any ideas?

If kept in a cool location that is dry, squash will last up to three months without losing taste or beginning to rot. I normally store mine in the basement. An attached garage will also work just fine.

Personally, I would not eat anything washed with bleach, even if it is a small concentration.
