GROWING

Question
I HAVE TWO JALAPENO PLANTS IN A POT . I BEEN TRYING TO GROW THEM FOR ABOUT 7 WEEKS NOW AND THEY ARE GROWING VERY SLOW , THEY ARE ABOUT 3 TO 4 INCHES TALL. IT SEEMS TO ME THEY SHOULD BE A LOT TALLER AND ABOUT TO PRODUCE BY NOW . MY OTHER PLANT I HAD STARTED AT THE SAME TIME ARE ABOUT TO PRODUCE . WHAT CAN I DO OR WHAT AM I DOING WORNG . SHOULD I GO AHEAD AND PLANT THEM IN THE GROUND . THE TEMPERTURE IS AROUND THE 90'S BUT VERY HUMID . I THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND SERVICES .

Answer
David:

The soil in your pots has to be very loose and not compacted. Try a good grade of organic fertilizer. If they don't show signs of disease then the fertilizer and water should help. As hot as the weather is they are to small to be transplanted in the field.

Can you tell who the seed supplier and what the variety is.

Best wishes.

Don
