Question
Once the spring tomato harvest is done if kept alive and cared for will the tomato plants begin producing again in the fall with cooler temps or do new plants need to be planted mid summer for the fall season?

Answer
Tomatoes will normally produce several harvests before the plant is spent. This is normally 4-6 months after they are planted. Therefore, it is not necessary to plant replacements this summer. The current plants should blossom again and produce at least two more harvests.
