I'm trying to grow in a grow box, the young plants start, then drop off. They seem not to like their roots wet all the time. Tell me what you think.

You are correct the roots of squash do not like to be wet all the time. Make sure you have good drainage in the bottom of your box and then let the box dry for a few days. Apply some organic fertilizer after the soil has dried fro a few days and then lightly water.
