QuestionI need to know if I should hand pollinate my cantaloupe in a garden that already has several other plants producing fruits such as tomatoes, green squash, and green beans. How would I go about hand pollination?
AnswerDear Christa,
I'm not sure why the cantaloupe would have been left out of the natural pollination process, but if that is the case. To hand pollinate, I use a cotton swab in the center of the blossoms and gently use the swab in the center of all the blossoms. That's the method I use when I raise plants indoors without benefit of wind and insects.
Kind Regards,
