Questionwhat is the difference between scallions, chives and green onions?
AnswerDear Lindsey,
Chives and green onions are different plants. Chives grow in a clump and the flavor is in the greenery above the ground. Green onions grow individually and have a small white bulb underground that is edible and contains the most pungent of the flavor. Scallions are young green onions before the bulb develops.
