QuestionDear Kindred,
My cantaloupe are big/ripe and delicious...however, recently something has been eating them. I think it is birds but am not sure. What eats Cantaloupes? How can I keep what ever is eating them away? We left 5 half eaten cantaloupe on the ground hoping it would continue to eat them but whatever it is keeps going after the new/ripe ones? Help!! In the last 5 days we have had 5 eaten.
AnswerDear Joyce,
Yes, birds eat cantaloupe. My recommendation would be to pick the fruit right before it's ripe, and let it ripen in the window. That way the birds can't get the choice fruit on the day they ripen.
Kind Regards,
Kindred
