Question
I've grown cantaloupes in the past but they always turn out to smell good, look good but taste bland. Is there an additive that I'm supposed to be putting in the soil to sweeten up the fruit?

Dear Bill,
I use natural fertilizer, that is manure or chicken litter in hills of topsoil.  They are always juicy and flavorful.  I have heard that people even put sugar in the soil, but I have never tried it and I'm not recommending it.
