PEPPER PLANTS LOOSING LEAVES

Question
We planted bell pepper plants a few weeks ago.  They were perfectly healthy when we bought them, but immediately started loosing their bottom leaves after we planted them.  The leaves turned yellow, then fell off.  No brown spots like other posters mentioned.  I have watered the garden everyday because it is a raised bed and we have had no rain.  Am I watering too much?  We also put a little 10-10-10 fertilizer on the whole garden, but not much, and they are getting some afternoon shade.  I read the other posting on the subject, but none of those conditions applied to me except perhaps the overwatering.  I've read that peppers don't need much water as they grow well in desert type areas.  Is this true?

Answer
Dear Tim,
You may be over watering.  Back off of the water a bit, as even if you were receiving normal rainfall, it wouldn't be daily.  I am a natural girl so I can't help you with the 10-10-10 fertilizer, but I would reduce the watering for a few days and see what happens.  As you can tell from all the questions about pepper plants, they seem to be quite fragile this year.  I think we've about exhausted the perpetuity of hybrids and designer plants.
I hope this helps.
Kind Regards,
Kindred
