QuestionMike:
I live on the Oregon coast. Tomatoes don't get enough sun to ripen here so I'm growing them in my small greenhouse. I have purchased a patio variety. Last year the one called ACE grew so big, it took up all the greenhouse! I usually transplant plants as they grow, but I'm trying to save work by planting these new 6" plants in large pots now. Is that a good idea or does it not really matter?
I always wonder if small pots inhibit growth?

AnswerI'm a bit confused here as to the fact this question is not addressed to me, but I will offer my opinion, none the less.
I think the once a plant is established a large pot is a good idea. You may want to have one intermediate sized pot, but again, if the roots can get to the water supply, a large pot should be fine.
