QuestionMy husband says it's a pumkin, but it green and looks like a zucchini and very large. What can this be?
AnswerDear Lillian,
Pumpkins and squash are in the same "family." There are occasions in which the produce is actually a cross of some sort, either by close planting or recessive traits from hybrids. It sounds like you have something that will be "unique" when it is ready to pick. If it isn't round, or at least oval, I'm guessing it's not a true pumpkin. They are round or oval from the beginning long before they ripen. It really does sound like some sort of crossed squash.
Kind Regards,
Kindred
