QuestionI am growing asparagus and this is the second year. They are now very large ferns. Do I leave the ferns til spring and then cut them off? If so, when do I cut them? Is there anything I should do now? Anything else in the spring?
Thank you.
AnswerDear Carolyn,
We cut back the fern after the frost. As a matter of fact, we cut all the greenery in the garden after the frost and leave it, it makes a wonderful nutrient for the soil and next years plants, including the perennials.
Kind Regards,
